Meaning: Looks; seems…

How to use:

verb formます (bỏ ます) + そうです:
Adjective -i ( い) + そうです。
Adjective  -na ( な) + そうです。

Explain:
『そうです』Used in the case of expressing the speaker’s judgment and assessment based on what he has seen, the information collected from sight.

そうな+N: Used as an adjective to modify the noun that follows.

Example sentences:

1. うれしそうですね、どうしたんですか。
Ureshi sou desu ne, doushitan desuka?
You look so happy, what’s wrong?

2. 明日は、天気が悪くなりそうです。
Ashita wa, tenki ga waruku nari sou desu.
Looks like the weather is going to get worse tomorrow.

3. あの人はだれですか?とても優しそうな人ですね。
Ano hito wa dare desuka? totemo yasashi souna hito desune.
Who is that person? Looks like a very gentle person.
