Learn JLPT N2 Grammar: にしろ/にせよ (ni shiro/ni seyo)
Meaning: even though; even if; whether… or
How to use:
Verb-casual + にしろ/にせよ
Noun + (である)にしろ/にせよ
いadj + にしろ/にせよ
なadj + (である)にしろ/にせよ
Example sentences:
1. 来るにせよ来ないにせよ、連絡ぐらいはしてほしい。
kuru ni seyo konai ni seyo, renraku gurai wa shite hoshī.
Come or not, I want you to let me know
2. いずれにせよもう一度検査をしなければならない。
izure ni seyo mōichido kensa o shinakereba naranai.
In any case I have to check again.
3. どちらの案を採用するにしろ，メンバーには十分な説明をする必要がある。
dochira no an o saiyō suru ni shiro, menbā ni wa jūbun’na setsumei o suruhitsuyōgāru.
Whichever plan is adopted, it is necessary to give a sufficient explanation to the members.
4. しかしなにがあったにせよ、もうとうの昔に消え去っている。
shikashi nani ga atta ni seyo, moutou no mukashi ni kiesatte iru.
But whatever it has been, it’s gone now.
